apply for treatment if you are a serving or retired police officer and have suffered an injury or illness, our experienced and fully qualified staff may be able to assist you. physiotherapy psychological wellbeing donate now we are a registered charity funded almost entirely by donations from serving officers and members of the public. we need your support. donate now fundraising -- welcome to is a registered charity which provides treatment, support & recuperation, including intensive, police-specific, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, for injured and ill police officers and retired officers. police officers are very often the first responders to serious accidents and dangerous incidents, dealing with death, distress and aggression. they have to see and hear things that other members of the public would simply not be able to cope with (- martis media/police oracle). provide police specific treatment for any on or off duty injury. whether it is a physical injury, or stress, depression, anxiety related, treatment and recuperation are provided to help them recover and aid their return back to work. almost 4000 serving and retired officers attend one of the two treatment centres each year at either st andrews, in harrogate, north yorkshire, or castlebrae in auchterarder, perthshire. to find out more about the work we do and why your support is so valuable, view our short film click here . at the knaresborough bed race is a registered charity supported by voluntary donations from serving police officers primarily in the northern forces of england and wales, scotland and northern ireland, but also from british transport police, the civil nuclear constabulary and the ministry of defence police. officers currently make a donation from their pay of £1.30 per week (1 september 2011). -- news the ptc is now delighted to be welcoming the harbour police for tees & hartlepool for treatment at its centres. breaking news! eric flatman will be cycling, along with 8 others, from doncaster to ypres, starting on 11th june 2018. this challenge will take five days and cover a distance of well over 2000 miles!! extreme abseiling challenge raises £100 for the ptc! patient stories richard climpson, merseyside detention officer recently attended the ptc for treatment. richard is the first detention officer to have accessed treatment at the ptc, and signed up during the summer amnesty - #morethanapoliceofficer campaign. read more here... my injury wasn’t as a result of an act of bravery, there was no drama or excitement involved. it occurred on a routine call following up a metal theft in the last month of my probationary year. it was the sort of injury that could happen to any police officer at any time. without the treatment from i could easily have lost my career. north wales officer, beverley humphries visited the police treatment centre for her first visit following a serious incident on duty... feedback first class physio! so so happy with my progress and the people skills of the physio dept. thank you very much, all of you. everyone has been 'spot on'….a very pleasant environment, almost like a holiday! every aspect of my stay was amazing, cannot believe i've left it for over twenty years to visit…..!!!
